In the early 1960s, he produced a string of movies starring young girls in bikinis. They were huge hits with teens, and the films were shot in as few as 15 days. In addition to these young adult movies, Asher’s catalog of work includes movies like “Racket Squad,” “Big Town,” and “The 27th Day.”
After the death of his father in 1937, the Asher family moved to New York, but Bill was able to land a job at Universal Pictures in LA.
