Before Making His Name On The Big Screen, Bill Asher Was A Successful TV Producer


In the early 1960s, he produced a string of movies starring young girls in bikinis. They were huge hits with teens, and the films were shot in as few as 15 days. In addition to these young adult movies, Asher’s catalog of work includes movies like “Racket Squad,” “Big Town,” and “The 27th Day.”

After the death of his father in 1937, the Asher family moved to New York, but Bill was able to land a job at Universal Pictures in LA. Asher was born in New York City on Aug. His parents were a movie producer and an actress. His mother, Betty, was a publicist for Judy Garland at MGM. In his early teens, his parents divorced and Asher returned to New York with his mother. His mother’s drinking and rages had a negative impact on him as a young boy.

His current projects include developing thermodynamic models of secondary organic aerosols, modeling the cycling of volatile organic compounds in rivers and lakes, and using infrared imaging to examine the relationship between air-water exchange and microscale wave breaking
